What on earth is a mindset coach?
I didn’t know either, until about 3 years ago.
Then I learned that I’d been trying to coach people all my life. I didn’t have a word for it. I thought I was just being helpful – to friends, family, colleagues and anyone who’d let me – whether they wanted it or not! 😊
I had the answers and the solutions. If I could jump in and fix people’s problems I would.
Yet others often didn’t follow my advice. Even when they had asked for it. They might try for a bit and then give up.
Why was it so hard for so many to solve problems? To set goals and achieve them? To break bad habits and create good ones? To take my advice and follow through? I puzzled over this for years.
And then someone pointed out that I wasn’t really helping at all. I was “rescuing.” Swooping in to fix things in the moment, but only providing short-term relief, and sometimes creating dependency. It wasn’t healthy. It was disempowering.
The right way for me is not necessarily the right way for you. We all need to find our own answers and our own solutions. A way forward that resonates with us, aligned with our individual values and our purpose in life.
Sometimes we just need a little guidance, support and a reliable process for finding the answers, solving our problems and paving our own way. And that is life coaching.
Now I equip people with the tools and skills to solve their own problems.
As a mindset coach, I specialise in helping people:
- understand how their minds work
- take full responsibility for their thoughts, feelings and actions
- identify and remove limiting beliefs and self-imposed barriers
- eliminate confusion to make decisions quickly and easily
- set and achieve goals consistently, in a way that feels right for them - a way they can truly own.
A life coach is a catalyst for transformation. For me, being a coach is a calling.
I wonder how many of you identify with my experience. Is it possible that you’re a coach who just doesn’t know it yet?
